Here I stand at the foot of Sinai
Waiting for the thunderous sounds
The heaves and haws
Awaiting the rapturous tones
Here at the foot of Sinai, I wait
To hear the deafening roars
The clamoring cheers
The haunting squeals and chirps
I wait, and I wait at the foot of Sinai.
Then it happened, but there was no sound
Not a bird or a whisper
Not a whimper or chirp
Not a breath nor roar
I waited at the foot of Sinai
where all stood still
Not a sound passed from man or animal
At the foot of Sinai, there was only awe.
I waited, and I still wait at the foot of Sinai.
